trump is bad for humanity

I believed in the system and then it failed me.

Donald Trump is going to take over as President. This is how inept the people of the western developed world are. Numb, dumb and smacking gum with their ear buds in so that they can just get from point A to point B without ANY DOG MAND DISTRACTIONS!! besides that bait click headline. and that one and that one and that one.

Ok, irl I know I'm just railing against the human condition. It's pointless. This is my plight as a human with a high sensitivity and intelligence. An exchange, essentially. Especially in a day and age where these things are not valued at all over money.
Because nothing is valued over money. Really. But somethings are said to be valued over money. Like freedom? Maybe.

The system failed because the intentions of the system are not the same as those of 240 years before. Those people were trying to survive. They had been through generations of violence and understood the intrinsic value to every single human life. As much as any human can understand it. The American Revolution is a story of a whole bunch of people who hate each other figuring out how to get along. There is no possible way the people of the US today actually hate and distrust each other as much as those founding fathers and their factions. But they made it work because the alternative was death. So, if the current day lawmakers can't do better, the problem is clear. They need to value human life more than they do.

The parallels are ripe for the picking of all high school English students writing essays with titles like:
Not My President: 5 Ways Donald Trump is a 21st Century Version of Adolf Hitler

Assuming people are taught how to make accurate comparisons these days. I am not totally sure that they are. Maybe I got to be educated during some sort of golden age of reason. Or maybe it's just that high intelligence thing again. Regardless, education for all must continue. And with the internet, literacy becomes more achievable but also takes on deeper, thicker, more grotesque layers. There are limits to language. Language is a derivative of thought, so there are limits to the abilities of language to solve problems. One of those limits is the time it takes to just put the right words together.

It's a tightrope to walk a line of not trying to be annoying, or over zealous. No micro-aggressions, except against those intended to try and offend. Not trying to get paid. But still creating content that is intended to improve human existence now and in the future. Trying to say what I actually think and accepting the imperfections that come out in that effort. Respecting the energies of my body for my body.
Quickly, the systems based in technology fail me in this framework. I feel as though I am lost in the wilderness. Technology is just a machete in my hand.
But in Physical life I'm not in the wilderness  at all.And right now, for me, it seems like people are really hurting themselves with that machete more than they are helping themselves.
But maybe that is just a bubble I am in. Regardless.

The problem is that human existence now and in the future should be the most valuable thing, at least in regard to the systems that we set up to help us survive. The free market capitalist system is just one of those systems, but somehow it is the one that dictates value for every system? Such that it ruins health care systems, education systems, potable water distribution systems!, ecosystems, legal systems..... Valuing money over human existence is ruining the possibility of a prosperous future for our species.

And so is not understanding or respecting the real truth in the benefits to diversity. It is beautiful that we can fly from place to place to place. But since we have taken on the rights of having airplanes, so we must also take on the responsibility of upholding diversity.
Human beings are different colours because the sun shines on the planet differently in different places. And everything after that is what our brains and eyes did with the colours of humans before we understood how melanin worked.

We can compare cultures down to the nitty gritty for decades, it's just a divisive exercise. As a tiger I know sometimes sings: in some ways we are different but in so many ways we are the same. We have to stop separating ourselves based on surface appearance. That is a choice made out of fear, and fear based choices do not strengthen humanity. they just don't. Fear based choices only strengthens the insulation that people use to stay numb, dumb and smacking gum. We need diversity of age and culture and gender (and all the other nuanced identities that make humanity the parasitic force that it is).

White supremacy theories are incomplete pictures of humanity. They are not and never will be truth. The Patriarchal and Machismo structures that every culture pays heed to are far worse for men than they are for women. Children are just small people with problems that feel incredibly complex but can (usually) be easily solved with help. Humans have a really hard time asking and accepting help from others, but individualism is not the lifestyle it promises to be because humans are wired as relational beings. Violence solves no problems at their root and it is unnecessarily over dramatic.

I protest the way Donald J. Trump used frustration and anger involved in real problems that have absolutely nothing to do with minority cultures or the free press. I protest the way Trump turned that frustration and anger into hatred used to demonize minority cultures and the free press -these are elements of society that are necessary for the strength of my homeland. And I protest every single decision Trump has made as President Elect. Every single one. Even the ones I don't know anything about. I protest every decision with certainty that it was not made with the best interests of my homeland over any other best interests.

You can't serve money and humanity. You can't serve yourself and a country. You can't sleep and be woke. Love burns. Healing hurts. Endurance is necessary for survival.

ok Trump is President, now what?

take a deep breath and let it go. first of all.
release all of the fear that lies inside you. there is no need for it here.
It doesn't matter what the state of the world is when you read this.
There is no need to be afraid ever. of anything.

take a deep breath and let it go. again.
flow that breath into yourself
so that you can make space for your emotions.
if you can breathe, you are alive.
life - its the only thing you have to have to survive.

so we are only dealing with emotions now, because we have removed the fear. If you really can't remove the fear and anxiety for your present existence just by breathing. And that is solely because Donald Trump became the President of the United States? keep trying. keep breathing. read.

Here is the thing, I believe in the legal structure of this country called the USA. It is not a perfect legal structure, but its flaws are clear and mostly based in racism and misogyny. If one of its flaws were that a president could become a dictator, I think it would have been exploited by now. And if this is the first time? if it took over two hundred years for a narcissistic, man-child become the leader of the free world? I still trust the system that has been established. The main point was to keep someone from taking everything over for themselves because the people who created this country did not trust each other in the slightest. BUT they were fucking tired of violence.

Because here is the T - Half does not a majority make. So in no way shape or form can anyone say that Donald Trump does anything with the blessing of the people of America. Only half of the American's get to be represented by this human's way of thinking. And his way of thinking is fucking negative. Like, disgustingly so. He is clearly a broken human that does not value the life he has. You can't say everything is shit and not convince me that

actually, it's your way of thinking that is the real problem

The glass is "half empty", pessimistic. As an authentic "half empty" you don't believe it is possible to ever see the glass as "half full" and anyone who claims to must be lying or deluded.

That is what I understand when I hear a human who talks like Donald Trump has for his entire presidential run. And as a person who is "glass half full" forever. I can not get on board with the way he thinks. He is broken, from my perspective.
And then, from his supporters I hear the same broke down pessimism OR I hear this:

I am on a team for life, that team is versus another team. and I want to be #winning.

If only for a moment, they want to taste victory.

The secret is that there are no teams. Check the DNA! We are all family! Humans versus Humans is just violence against ourselves. Why would we commit violence against ourselves? because there is a huge deficiency of self love in the populous. And it presents itself on the surface in very many different ways, so you can't say that one side is full of people who hate themselves (and therefore all of humanity) and the other is full of people who love themselves. No. You can't really say that. You can say one side seems to be for unity and inclusion, whereas, the other side is for anarchy unless they are in control. Yes.

You can say that a government should give a crap about life. Specifically, the existence of human life in the future of the planet Earth. Government, as an entity, should be the thing that cares about this. But most of the people who support Donald Trump are too ignorant to see the value in government
So I get it. Donald Trump doesn't seem like the type to be good at protecting human life. And the potential of his presidency to [suck so bad that it destroys the planet and our species] is real. But growth in human life comes from dealing with that exact thing you do not want to face. And you do it to shake free those last hold out thoughts filled with fear and deception, the growth inhibitors that cause things like pessimism. Experiencing extremes creates selection. But you have to endure the extremes fully to find the benefit.

So don't cut tail and run. Endure. Canada won't take you easily unless you are paying international tuition fees, have a graduate degree or speak their two languages anyway. (I did the "move to canada" thing during the first four years of W, so I know). But for those of you who decided to stay in the US after high school, stick it out! Stay.
Take all the extra? money that you earn during the years Donald Trump is President of the USA and give it to your local schools. Not the schools your kids go to, but the schools you live nearest to. Give them your money, give them your time, give them your physical presence. Make the school the center of the community. Do you have access to food from a walking distance away? no? but you have a school a walking distance away. Make that school parking lot a farmers market. Mass efforts to source (grow+sale) food locally will only benefit the future of humanity. And a massive focus on education is the only true way out of this half and half split over how to think about life.

There are things that get to be categorically right and categorically wrong. If it threatens the existence of our species, it has to be wrong. Because if it is not wrong?! If it is just "an opinion" subject to equal time under scrutiny as all the other "opinions" presented?!!! Our existence as a species is based on this principle of self preservation, but let's just undermine all that?? because of freedom of expression? Let's express ourselves politely all the way into extinction. If it does not value human life the most, out of everything else, then it threatens our species and it is wrong. Not in some sort of spiritual, integrated, "sin" based way. No, like 2+2=5 WRONG!
And if a thing encourages the existence of our species, then it is right. That has be a truth no matter what you practice or preach about anything else. Or, half the population will definitely not be on board. Clearly.

So, the messages of unity versus anarchy? One of those messages is wrong and one is right.
It is always right to find the places that humans can unite. It's always right to bring more peace into a situation. It's always wrong to incite violence. You don't have to bring emotion or preferences or opinions into it. Valuing human life is always right and never wrong. So can we please see that message blasted across all versions of media? in response to a Trump Presidency. I'm laughing at the mainstream media now- they thought the whole thing was a joke just long enough to make it not one. Shocked for certainty is New York and LA on this fine November day. So the media better be ready to go high.

But seriously Mainstream Media, meet me at camera three-
This is your moment. You're dead if you do not change your messages. Stop convincing people to hate themselves just to increase your profits. Educate the masses in self-love. They need it. Half of them are convinced there is no hope in life. Get positive. Get inclusive. Get diverse. Don't become the anti-Trump, become a beacon of education in true self love. Rise Above. Go High. Send a message that Trump can not shut down without outing himself as a human-hater. You can turn this country around in less than 4 years. I guarantee it. But you have to stop being out for yourselves first.

No matter who the ruler of your country is, invest in the local infrastructure and people who surround you and you can not be wrong. And love yourself. It's easier to say than do. Mostly because it is a different code for each human to crack. All of the solutions start with grace. forgiveness. self awareness. It may be painful to figure out how to do it but endure the pain for as long as it takes. Because self love is worth fighting to have, as long as the fight is only violent against the deceptions and fears that convinced you not to love yourself in the first place. Get educated. Educate others.

DoThis:Vision E002. A whole bunch of thoughts on how to think. I promise, it makes sense to me.

paper cranes

I have learned a few different and simple ways to make paper decorations. I will offer a demonstration of the paper folding techniques I have learned (the crane, the heart, and the 3d star). and then provide pretty paper for people to make their own. My hope is that guests will like their decorations enough to take them home. But if they don't, it is ok. I will decorate for the next party with any left behind.

I also have this glass cylinder sitting in a stainless steel base. It is actually like this ethanol fireplace. My husband received it as a company Christmas present years ago. We never used it because we witnessed the effects of the smoke from the fire on the fireplace. The burn marks on the glass took away from why we liked it. Also, we could never find fuel for it.

It is too much of an empty vessel. I had to figure out how to fill it properly. And while I could, myself, fold a bazillion tiny paper cranes just to take a pretty picture of it and put it on a blog post. or have my guests remark about it. Instead, I want to try and use it as an unconventional guest book for the house.

Thus far, this has not worked out as I had hoped. I don't know if things will change or not, but I will keep trying. I love folding paper cranes for people. it is such a simple thing that seems so magical. I will fantastically fold paper for the rest of my life.

can not do math

paper cranes

this is me having a conversation and folding a paper crane at the same time. I decided to learn how to do a crane because it is a bird and it is simple. I like folding cranes while talking to people because, then, I get to give the crane to them when I am done. It is just something I have been doing for a while in preparation and planning for the first Kollekt Party.

Paper folding is basically geometry as an art form, if you ask me. And, full disclosure, I love me some geometry. Actually math and I, in general, get a long pretty well. But that is not because math comes easy to me. Actually, just like my experience with the other second language in my life, I understand math a lot better inside my head. The problems come when I try to express what I understand. I make mistakes and lose my way.

I want to say that math is a subject that can unite humanity, BUT I actually don't think that human history would agree with me. Math may be a good "official language" for a globe-based society of humans, but only on paper, not in the interactions between humans. We can't communicate in only math, can we? I don't want to count anything out, but in the past, humans have not been able to unite around math- like it is a theme. Aristotle doing math vs. Plato doing math is a really good example. So is the B.o.B vs. Neil deGrasse Tyson twitter beef that happened. These differences in the way people understand themselves and the universe are the reasons why I am hesitant to use math as a vehicle to unite humanity.

An issue I do have is this: when I encounter a human exclaiming on the internet about how they can not do math. If you can't math, then use the internet to change that about yourself! It's one of the core sources of knowledge, and you don't know how to understand it, ok, but you are not worried about that at all!? that is not a string of choices that lead to positive effects on the existence of the human race, so I am not a fan.

In reality I think people remark loudly about their inability to do math, because they feel like they lost the opportunity to learn. Cover up your disappointment or embarrassment by making a joke. You laugh instead of understanding why. Why do you care enough about how you "can not do math" to make an announcement?

I know it is scary to face things you have decided you can only fail at. But, truly I tell you, everyone can learn math. There are so many ways that you can look at concepts in math. it just takes the right perspective to understand what is going on. From my experience, when you find that perspective, and truly understand, it feels better than climbing to the peak of a mountain.

basic bicycle maintenence

For the first Kollekt parties, one of the activities planned to do for the asylum seekers is a demonstration in basic bicycle maintenance. I have had to rely on a bicycle to travel around for the last five years. I know how to do some really basic things to keep my bicycle functional. So, on the recommendation of someone who knows much better than I what an asylum seeker might find worth their time and discomfort, I have planned and advertised this demonstration. After the demonstration is completed, any party guests who are interested will be allowed to try the techniques that were demonstrated.

Bicycles are one of the parts of our world that can bring humans together into a common interest. They transcend the class gaps of the world. No one on the planet is too rich to use a bicycle. And there are many projects all around the world that try to close the gaps on a financial level as well. There are a variety of organizations that bring older, used bikes from more affluent areas into impoverished areas. The organizers teach and employ locals to fix the bicycles and then resell them. I am not personally planning to pursue this way of uniting humanity through bicycle recycling. Though I would not refuse to partner with someone who was interested. Most importantly, as soon as possible, I would like to hand off the responsibility of the Kollekt Party basic bicycle maintenance demonstration to someone who is more passionate about bicycles than me.

Assuming Kollekt Parties continue to happen at my family house, I would like to build covered outdoor space. I can only fit one or two bikes in the living room of the house. I would love to have an area that fits more bicycles, assuming learning to do bicycle maintenance is something that appeals to the party guests as much as I have been told it will.

We also have been getting feedback from the asylum seekers that they have a desire for quality equipment to maintain their bicycles. But, they don't have access to the equipment, or they can't afford the cost if they can find the equipment.
